If I were stranded on an island…

I would not, could not, live without the following items:

I recently purchased this from QVC (again, thinking of my Mom and the amazing relationship we had – she loved QVC)!

As an aesthetician, I come across amazing products, and I’m always on the lookout for the next best thing. I love to try things out first and then give you my feedback. How can I talk about a product if I haven’t used it? So, I suggest you give this a try. As always, shop around and get the best price for it (never pay more than you should)!

Dr. Perricone is a board certified clinical and research dermatologist. He has authored three best sellers and I love his holistic approach to aging. I have used this product for a month now, and I am happy with the results.

No Concealer Concealer is a broad spectrum UVA & UVB, non-chemical, mineral-based product with an SPF of 35! That’s good stuff! It treats your skin while concealing discolorations, dark circles and imperfections. Here’s a tip: I just don’t use this under my eyes. I use it on my eyelids (it’s a great eye shadow primer) and other places on my face that need some help. Remember to use your ring finger and to pat GENTLY around the bottom of your eye. Your skin is extremely thin around your eye and if you pull and tug on it, you will create wrinkles.

I have to say that the SPF makes me happy, and I know (and all of you should know by now) what the sun and tanning beds do to our skin. I personally know of a woman who worshiped the sun to a point that at 54 she looks like she’s 104 – scary! Do not consider yourself a human sundial. She suffers the consequence of her decision, and I think at one point Steve Irwin (who I love and miss) mistakenly captured her thinking she was a crocodile! Don’t be foolish – go out and enjoy the sun, but always protect your skin!

So, let me go back to my original thought. If I were stranded on an island, I would take with me: my family, coffee, and Dr. Perricone’s No Concealer Concealer!

If you do purchase this product, please let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions, just ask!

JoFection says…Give it a try!

Don’t you just love eye shadow?  I mean, think about it.  The enormous amount of color options, the various ways to let your eyes speak without muttering one word, and the opportunity to brighten, highlight, and open the window to your soul.  You have heard that before, haven’t you?  The eyes are the windows to our soul.

I have tried so many eye shadows in my time; I am old enough to use that statement.  Therefore, listen up to an experienced woman…you don’t always have to break the bank for a splash of color.  On a whim, I recently tried Maybelline’s Eyestudio Color Pearls in Bronze Blowout and Carbon Frost.  It was buy one get one 50% off at CVS!  I was cautiously optimistic.  It was aesthetically pleasing, the colors were pretty, and I felt I was getting more for my money, but the question was, would it work?

I tried it the next day and it was beautiful!  The colors are multi-dimensional, rich in pigment, have lasting power (always remember eye shadow primer) and, looked gorgeous!  It made my eye pop (in a good way.)  I was pleasantly surprised and it just goes to show you that you don’t have to spend a million to look like a million.

Give it a try and if you need some help with application techniques, you know where to find me!  However, most of all…have fun and do not take yourself so seriously, its eye shadow not eye surgery.

Enjoy…

A question for the ladies…

How many products do you have in your bathroom cabinet you thought would save you?  The product that promised you the world, made you a believer, and gave you squat?

I have countless empty promises in my cabinet, a huge financial loss, and bitterness towards the companies that could care less if their product worked or not.

So…here’s what I’m going to do for you.  I will sample products, give you the “ins & outs” and tell you what I love and what I think should be returned.  Save your receipts and start adding up the cash, you’re in for a big surprise and some extra padding in your wallet!

Shame on companies who don’t care about their customers, don’t care about creating a great reliable product, and think, “greed is good!”  Sorry, not on my watch.  A great man (my father) once said to me, “even if you stand alone, STAND!”  So, I’m standing for all those who can’t, and hopefully give strength to those who need it.

Ladies, slip on those stilettos, it’s time to stand up!
