Pretty Little Pout

Fall for Fall colors, and color that pretty little pout!

Apples, pumpkin pie, suede boots, short leather jacket and a cute Burberry hat.  That’s what Fall is made of.  Tortellini soup, a movie, get the fireplace crackling and add some red wine – that’s what my Fall is made of.

So what are we dressing our lips up with?  Dior, Lancome, MAC, Revlon – take your pick. Before you do, remember to exfoliate with (my favorite) LUSH Mint Julips lip scrub, a little blended lip color, then your “Fall favorite” – don’t forget a gloss if you want your pout to shine.

If you can’t wink, you can always pout your way over to a man.  No lip injections needed, just some peppermint to plump up your pucker and some come kiss me lip color.

Pucker up and kiss your significant other and remember to smile. There is nothing more beautiful than a pearly white smile with a dash of Fall!

Mix n Match

The other day I was having a fun girl lunch at http://www.pizzaevino.net in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. I was with a woman who I have come to admire over the past year. We are “cancer” sisters, as our birthdays are a couple weeks apart and whenever I am with her, I find myself always walking away with a feeling like we could have been biological sisters (quite honestly, that would have been my pick)!

I think what makes a beautiful relationship (any kind of relationship) is TRUST. I have heard that word a lot lately, and after attending a beautiful mass at my son’s school, they too put faith in “trust.”

We did what most girls do; we talked about: family, work, kids, relationships, and one of my favorite topics…fashion! It was of course FNO (Fashion Night Out) and it is always fun and harmless to indulge in things that bring us happiness.

One topic on the docket was mixing and matching items in your wardrobe. I don’t know many people who can dress from head to toe in designer fashion, so what’s the next best thing – mix and match! I think it takes courage, creativity, and fashion sen$e to put together an ensemble that ranges in price from $20.00 to $200.00. I personally enjoy shopping that way. It’s a challenge, and what East Coast girl can’t handle a challenge?

About a month ago I was in Target and stopped in the accessory department. I spoke to the salesgirl about the recent effort put forth by the buyer for the department and how I have personally seen some very cute and trendy accessories there. So, of course I had to take some pictures.

Before you run out and drop dollars on trendy expensive accessories, shop online in the sale section of your favorite department store, head to your local boutique, and think about stopping by Target. What store can you walk away from with wine, a movie, munchies, and a trendy necklace?

I know this article was supposed to be in a “New York Minute,” but I believe in giving LushCake friends something more than a hangover thought to walk away with!

Happy shopping girls!

Eyes Wide Open (NY Minute)

Ok, let’s fess up!  We have ALL been there before.  We were out too late the night before, got to bed too late, or never went to bed at all!  Regardless of the reason, we need to get our assets moving in the morning, and our eyes look like we went a  round or two with Muhammad Ali.

So, here is my one—two punch:

  1. Quickly wash your face (assuming you didn’t the night before)
  2. Slap on some moisturizer (with SPF)
  3. Don’t forget your EYE CREAM!
  4. Foundation
  5. Bronzer
  6. Mascara
  7. If you’re feeling kissable, then reach for the sheer gloss

As you’re running out the door, grab a pair of red heels and make sure you are carrying a latte with you before you walk into your “place of work.”  I guarantee you no one will know what you have been up to.

In a New York Minute

What is a “New York minute?”  Well, it is something that’s done in record time.  Like New York, it’s fast and then you are onto the next task.  This is not a bad thing.  There are many times when we need to get something done and wish we had a shortcut to get there.

Here and there, I will shout out ideas to get even the slowest of girls moving.  This is not just about makeup or fashion, but everything under a girl’s umbrella.  You know there’s a lot under there!

Tick-tock, get movin!
